ask adale if she remembers the story of corky and the interim abroad ireland trip :)
I think I need a little reminder of this story about Corky and Ireland. I'm actually reminded of my interim trip to Italy b/c Dr. De Marsch works in Colorado Springs (where I'm attending an anti-racist conference this week).
I keep imagining a "Before Sunrise" type romance...I can see Corky, with his black leather jacket, charming some fair Irish lass...
corky was on our flight to ireland! they made a little announcement and he stood up and waved and everyone clapped.
and then we ran into him at a pub the next night and i'm pretty sure it was jen, me and someone else who went over and said hi to him and brought him over to our table. he was really sweet and tried to buy us all a drink but the pub was closing and the bartender could not be convinced that corky was a celebrity and should be exempt from the rules.
kelly and i did convince the bartender to take us to a dance club where i got drunk and couldn't stop talking with a bad irish accent. ah, interim abroad.
